A seminar entitled "Japan-Style IR - For Tourism Promotion and Economic Growth -" sponsored by the U.S.-Japan Business Council was held in Tokyo on September 13th and many stakeholders and news media visited.

In the first session "Latest Research Presentation on IR Economic Ripple Effect", the changes surrounding the Japanese economy and the expectation from the IR effect were stated. Jesper Koll, CEO of WisdomTree Japan KK pointed out the entrepreneurial breakthrough as the main background that the creation of full-time employment in the economy was activated under the assumption that Japan has reached the end of deflation, and Kahlil Philander of Washington State University mentioned the economic effects of the Japanese IR, announced the latest estimate result of 2.2 trillion yen or more economic effect and creation of more than 60,000 jobs through attracting urban type IR, claiming the superiority of urban type large IR.

The following session "About Eliminating Anti-Social Forces” referred to activation of self-purification such as setting and executing a strict penalty within the industry, not leaving it to the police with little gaming knowledge, and Viswa Sadasivan who was in charge of Public Policy Expert in Singapore said that it is the key point to consider confidential information and privacy management more "emotionally" than other foreign markets.

In the final session that touched upon “gambling addiction”, an effective example was introduced for each stage divided in time series from prevention to development of the addiction.

In addition, James P. Whelan of the University of Memphis warned that collection of entry levy from Japanese nationals intended by the government would create a sunk cost at the time of starting gamble, which would lead to binge gambling.
